Welcome to a new post for Kittenishgirl: FOTD! This time it’s all one brand, Etude House! I just fell in love with their cute packaging and brand. The products themselves are good quality, simple and effective. If you want to read about the products themselves and see my FOTD then just keep reading!
Sorry for this awkward photo, I forgot to include both of these in their subsequent area photos! I start by putting a nice layer of Face Blur on my clean face. It smells a lot like sunscreen and the liquid itself is a pearly pink. It blends out easily and gives the face a soft glow. I recently bought the Drawing Eye Brow in 03 Brown. I’ve never actually used an eyebrow pencil before, this one has a triangle shaped tip and a spoolie on the other. It twists in and out and is really easy to use! The tip is very soft and sort of just glides through the hair and fills in the patches. I recommend using an eye primer underneath just to stop it slipping around since it’s so creamy, but it’s easy to correct with your finger if you make a mistake too. I did my brows after putting on primer and before my eyeshadow.
Face products! After Face Blur I used the Magic Mineral Any Cushion in n02 which is the lightest shade. It works well for me with a NW10 MAC shade. I pat the product on with a slight roll motion and then turned around the cushion and did a last pat over with the dryer side to make sure everything was blended in. Then I used a soft face brush to dust a little Dear Girls Oil Control Pact as my powder in the T-zone. I find I don’t need a lot of powder these days and like to keep a bit of the dewiness from the BB cushion anyway. Since the pact is white is goes on transparent in a light application. Then I put some colour on my cheeks using Lovely Cookie Blusher in #10 Cookie which is a cute peach-orange shade.
Now for the eyes. I put on Proof 10 Eye Primer which works pretty well in my opinion and fairly cheap, though the bottle can be annoying once it starts to empty! Just apply some to your eyelids and blend in with your finger. I did my eyebrows as mentioned above and then started on the eyeshadow. Taking the Give Me Chocolate in Cherry Truffle, I used the brown shade over my crease with a fluffy brush until it was all blended. Then using a shadow brush I pat the orange-pink shade all over my crease and blended the two together. I used thin layers, working up to the amount of colour I wanted. Then I took a small pointer brush and got the light orange shimmery colour from Give Me Chocolate in Salted Caramel and pat it into my tear duct and under my eye just to the middle. This added glitter and a brighter orange to the look. Then for under my eyes I used the dark brown shade from Cherry Truffle again and sweeped it under the outer corner to the middle and blended it with a fluffy brush. In the middle I added a little Play 101 #45 pencil just for an extra shimmer. On my top lid from outer to middle I put in a little bit of Proof 10 Auto Pencil in Black and smudged it to give a little more smokiness around my eyelashes. The mascara I used was Lash Perm Mascara in Long formula. This is my second tube I just love it! it really lengthens the lashes but looks natural.
Now for lips… I’m terrible at lip products though I do love to buy them! I thought this shade kind of went with it? Oh well! This is the Dear My Wish Lips-Talk in #BE101 and it photographs really orange but I think it’s more neutral and beige in real life. The formula is really creamy and pigmented. You only need one swipe for full coverage!
And here’s how everything came together on my face. I don’t have great skin at the moment but I think the cushion is covering it pretty well. In real life it feels very light, basically unnoticeable with barely any texture or stickiness when I touch my face. What I think I like most is actually the blush, it really gives a warm flush to the cheeks.
Well that was my FOTD. I’m sure these would be easier as a video and maybe one day I’ll get the courage. I’m still learning with make up but it’s fun to play around and really plan out a look for this kind of post! Do you have any of these Etude House products? What do you think of their make up?
