November has been one weird month. I apologise for not getting an October Favourites post published because my thesis was due on the 28th and it was just a crazy time! Here are my good life moments and beauty picks for this post-thesis month!
First I must mention my Honours thesis! In Australia, the fourth year of a Bachelor degree is optional and you have to apply with good marks to be able to do it. It’s called Honours year and you usually do a couple of classes and a year-long thesis. I double majored in English and History but decided just to do History Honours. I worked sooo hard to pull my marks up during my 3rd year to get in… I had been slacking until then, oops! But I got in! The year has been stressful and scary but also fun, especially learning and writing my own opinions, and making new friends! My thesis was on the German medieval mystic Mechthild of Magdeburg and her possible influence on 14th century affective piety. Anyway, this month I found out my marks and I got 90, which means I have achieved First Class Honours! This is the top level you can be awarded! I’m so surprised and relieved. I worked really hard and it paid off! It also means one more successful step on the road to my dream starting next year. Hopefully I can fill you in on the final result in my December Favourites!
I went to a Fork on the Road event held in our city. It’s where all the food trucks come together and this time there was also a huge tent of craft breweries too. I drank many ciders and ate some amazing food!
I grown a bit of an obsession for lambic beers, especially cherry beer! It’s an ancient method in Europe, older than normal beer in fact. The perfect balance of fruity while the beer aspect takes away the sickly sweet! Pictured is my favourite one from our Belgian Beer Cafe!
My partner bought Dragon Age: Inquisition for the PS4 and we’ve been playing it non-stop! We take turns and watch each other play. It’s soooo fun and addictive! I love all the medieval religious parallels – as a budding religion historian. It also explains just enough of the first 2 games so you don’t actually have to play them either. So good!
The new trend seems to be forgoing foundation and just covering what you need with concealer and that’s it. Well, I certainly like this trend seeing as I find foundation pretty annoying after awhile and I’ve been able to clear my skin up completely. My favourite concealer is NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly! I cover up a little of my under eye (not to the extant that many youtubers do though) plus around my nose and chin. Then set it with a transparent powder and it looks perfect!
Some more of my beauty favourites this month:
MAC Magic of the Night Lipstick in Evening Rendezvous (Matte)
NARS Blush in Orgasm
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Champagne Pop
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
Urban Decay Spectrum Palette
